Toddy Walkby Visit Faaborg
Again this year, the traditional Toddy Walk Til Faaborg Winter Days will be held. As always, there will be new Toddys, but this time with a new route, new guides and new stories. But, of course, with the same good, warm winter atmosphere. As usual, it is Vinbanken, Den Gamle Gaard, and Trente Mølle Naturskol that have teamed up to create this unique experience especially for the *Faaborg Winter Days. * Join us on a hike that begins at Den Gamle Gaard in Faaborg and continues for 4-5 kilometres through the winter landscapes near Faaborg. Along the way, a nature guide will tell you about nature, and then, of course, we will taste various hot toddies. In the Vinbanken there is an opportunity to continue the fun, and hot soup will be available for purchase. All toddys include alcohol, so you must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Winter is coming! But before then, it's time for fall colors, game stew and good wines. Vinbanken and Trente Mølle invite you to a real autumn event on 15/10 from 3pm to 6pm. We start with a walk in the forest at Trente Mølle, where the nature guide tells us about autumn in nature, which is put in the bank until next spring and closes down for the winter. Back by the fire at Trente Mølle, we prepare together a delicious meal with seasonal ingredients and game. Autumn food belongs to red wine. That's why Vinbanken Faaborg comes by with three tastings of wines that match the menu. Finally, there is an opportunity to make a good deal and buy the introduced wines home with you.

Island Hop in Hiking Shoesby Avernakø Landhotel
Experience two islands in one trip through the South Funen Archipelago – Avernakø and Lyø.\ We take care of everything, from ferry tickets and luggage transport to accommodation and meals. Here’s your chance to explore a part of a UNESCO Global Geopark. - Programme Day 1: The journey starts in Faaborg at 9:45 AM. The island ferry departs from Kanalvej 13 at 10:00. First stop is Lyø, with arrival at 10:40. When boarding the ferry, you’ll find a clearly marked luggage cage – place your bags there and the ferry staff will ensure safe delivery to Avernakø, where we’ll bring it to the hotel.\ On Lyø, you’ll have 4 hours to explore the beautiful island. There’s a café next to the church, or you can bring your own lunch. \ The ferry departs from Lyø to Avernakø at 14:40. Come and experience the full moon by the fire in Findstrup Dal, where Hanne Pedersen from Naturkompasset offers NADA ear acupuncture. We gather around the campfire, where I serve a cup of NADA detox tea, which, along with the acupuncture, aims to provide calm. NADA is a recognized balance-creating acupuncture that the Chinese have been using for more than 1000 years. NADA is standardized methodology and aims to complement treatment in recovery, stress, addiction, and mental health conditions. Bring warm clothes and a blanket, there are benches with reindeer skins and the possibility to lie on your own blanket or sleeping mat. Please also bring a headlamp. We make sure you have bicycles ready at Avernakø Harbour, book your ferry tickets for you and make sure you are covered for a delicious lunch at Avernakø Landhotel. On Avernakø you can easily get around with a rental bike, so that you can get to see the May trees, drive around Skallevej, see Avernakø church, Drejet, Korshavn Bridge and the amazing view from Revkrogen. Lunch of course takes place at Avernakø Landhotel, where we have outdoor dining in our beautiful garden when the weather permits. We have classic Danish lunch dishes and cold beer/water in the fridge. UNESCO Global Geopark The South Funen Island Sea is a geological gem and was shaped during the last ice age when huge glaciers retreated as temperatures rose. Avernakø is about 8 km long and has just under 20 km of coastline, which can be the setting for some very beautiful nature experiences. The elongated shape of the island means that you have sea views almost wherever you go. It's easy to stop and enjoy one of the many great beaches. The bird life is diverse on Avernakø. Avernakø is home to Europe's largest concentration of bell frogs, and in order to provide them with the best possible conditions, former watering holes have been re-established. It provides good conditions for bird life.

Weekend island stay at Avernakø in the South Funen Archive Go on this weekend island stay alone or with your very best yarn friends. In addition to plant dyeing and a guided walking tour, the focus will be on coziness, community and the common interest in the yarn. Bring your knitwear and get all the way down into gear. Avernakø Landhotel a place with a homely atmosphere, lots of coziness and good homemade food. In addition, we have a park-like garden, eatery and shop. - Program The weekend stay starts in Faaborg where plant colors and field facilitator Henriette Grube will welcome you at 9:45 a.m. at Faaborg Harbor by the Ø-Færgen. At the crossing there will be coffee, cake and cozy get-togethers. Day 1 11.45: Arrival and accommodation at Avernakø Landhotel. Preparation of yarn for pickling, as well as starting color bath. 1:00 p.m.: Lunch. 14.00: Guided walking tour. 15.30: Afternoon coffee with cake, after which pickling is completed and tomorrow's color bath is chosen. 6:30 p.m.: Dinner, after which Henriette will talk about her approach to plant coloring and we will talk about pickling, plants, different fibers and what else is on our mind. Day 2 8:00 a.m.: Breakfast. Before breakfast, light a fire for a color bath. 8:45 a.m.: The coloring process is started up. From 9.00 to 11.00: Free play is offered while the bonfires are looked after. 11:00: Dyeing is completed, the yarn is washed and fixed. 13.00: Lunch followed by coffee and evaluation. At 2:30pm: Departure towards ferry. 15:10: The ferry departs from Avernakø towards Faaborg. During the crossing, Henriette will share her knowledge of the South Funen Archipelago. - Plant Colouring We carry out all processes in plant coloring. We dye 2-3 different colors. Step 1: Pickling that enables the yarn's ability to take on color. Step 2: Preparation of color bath. Step 3: The plant dyeing itself, in which the yarn is heated and the dyeing itself occurs. Step 4: The yarn is washed and fixed. Plant coloring is cozy and slow, so there is plenty of time for relaxation, the knitwear and possibly a walk. It is possible to bring your own yarn for dyeing. It must be wool, mohair or angora — however max 500 g. There will also be an opportunity to buy hand-spun yarn at Avernakø Landhotel, which can be used for the plant dyeing. - Guided Hiking Discover one of the beautiful wonders of the archipelago on foot. In addition to the walk from the ferry to Avernakø Landhotel, after lunch on day 1, there will be a guided walking tour with small pleasant stories. The trip will be about 4-5 km. long. If you are walking poorly, you can shorten the trip.

Veterantoget Faaborg-Korinth t/rby Syd Fyenske Veteranjernbane
Tag en tur med den Syd Fyenske Veteranjernbane og oplev, hvordan det var at rejse med tog i 1950’erne. Turen fra Faaborg til Korinth tager en halv time, og 60 minutters ophold returnerer veterantoget. Toget rumler gennem smukke fynske landskaber og passerer både skove og marker, og med flere gode kig ud over øhavet. You will receive your ferry ticket in advance via email, which can simply be scanned by the ferry staff. The ferry trip to Lyø takes approximately 40 minutes. Your packed lunch and coffee will arrive with the ferry at 9:10 AM and can be found in a marked cooler box at Lyø Harbor. After spending a few hours fishing along Lyø's peaceful shores – where there are rarely other anglers – you will take the ferry to Avernakø, departing from Lyø Harbor at 2:45 PM and arriving at Avernakø at 3:10 PM. Upon arrival at Avernakø Landhotel, we will welcome you with coffee and cake, followed by check-in at the hotel. Dinner will be served according to your preferences, allowing you to plan your fishing day without interruptions. In the evening, you can explore Avernakø's beautiful coasts and prepare for the next day of fishing. Check-out from your room is at 11:00 AM, but we offer storage for your luggage and any catch until later in the day. Of course, assistance is available throughout the day. You decide when to take the ferry back, and we will provide your ferry ticket. We will embrace the Danish winter atmosphere with all that it offers. * - Day 1 10:00am: The island ferry departs from Kanalvej 13, Faaborg. Ferry tickets are sent to you in advance. On the ferry you can buy coffee, hot cocoa and soft drinks, which are enjoyed with the beautiful view of the South Funen Archipelago. 11:20am: Arrival at Avernakø harbour. From here, the walk takes a beautiful route (1.3 km) up to the hotel. 12:15pm: Lunchtime! Enjoy a delicious lunch with free choice between Star Shot and Pariserbauf. Our most popular dishes. There is, of course, a vegetarian/vegan alternative. 1:00pm: We invite on a guided winter walk where together we walk “Skallevejen around,” a popular 4.3 km walk with tales of the island's nature, culture and history. We recommend a trip over “Drejet” or around Hovedsjön, and you will be given a map of the island. After dark we have fun indoors with board games, mulled wine & apple slices or coffee & cake. 6:30: Dinner is served as the dish of the day in platter serving. The menu varies, but Danish food made from scratch with love is always offered. There are, of course, both vegan and vegetarian alternatives. Day 2 7:00 AM TO 9:00 AM: Breakfast buffet with a selection of homemade treats, coffee, tea and other goodies. 9.30: For those interested, we offer a walk around to greet the Landhotell animals and watch them being fed. Meet our rabbits, goats, sheep, chickens, guinea pigs, and budgies. 10.00-12.00: The morning offers “free play,” where you can enjoy whatever you want most. Winter's Tales - An Evening in the Sand Theatreby Visit Faaborg
As darkness falls and the sea breeze forms the back curtain, we gather in a large tent on the beach for an evocative evening of storytelling, ritual and fellowship. The evening is led by a Geopark Guide, which with narrations and sensuous communication opens the door to the universe of the Nordic goddesses and the ancient winter rituals. We meet, among other things: Freja**, goddess of love and fertility Rán**, the goddess of the sea, who gathers the drowned in her net Skadi**, goddess of winter and mountains The narratives are supported by Nordic ambience with music and/or community singing, and participants are invited to a common, simple winter ritual where candles are lit as a symbol of the transition from darkness to light.
