Afternoon walk in Svanninge Bakkerby Visit Faaborg

At the heart of Geopark The South Funen Archipelago lies the Svanninge Bakker, a landscape shaped by the last ice age with hills and valleys, forests and open plains. The tour moves around through this amazing landscape, down through the hills to the village of Svanninge. Here we look at, among other things, an old burial mound and beautiful old houses and farms, before walking past the church back up through the hills. Guide on the tour is Anne Kolath Jensen, local Nature Supervisor in the company Tur i Natur — Anne. We want to make it easy and convenient for our guests to experience Avernakø and that's why we offer this tour where you can quickly and easily book a bike ride on Avernakø. We make sure you have bicycles ready at Avernakø Harbour, book your ferry tickets for you and make sure you are covered for a delicious lunch at Avernakø Landhotel. On Avernakø you can easily get around with a rental bike, so that you can get to see the May trees, drive around Skallevej, see Avernakø church, Drejet, Korshavn Bridge and the amazing view from Revkrogen. Lunch of course takes place at Avernakø Landhotel, where we have outdoor dining in our beautiful garden when the weather permits. We have classic Danish lunch dishes and cold beer/water in the fridge. UNESCO Global Geopark The South Funen Island Sea is a geological gem and was shaped during the last ice age when huge glaciers retreated as temperatures rose. Avernakø is about 8 km long and has just under 20 km of coastline, which can be the setting for some very beautiful nature experiences. The elongated shape of the island means that you have sea views almost wherever you go. It's easy to stop and enjoy one of the many great beaches. The bird life is diverse on Avernakø. Avernakø is home to Europe's largest concentration of bell frogs, and in order to provide them with the best possible conditions, former watering holes have been re-established. It provides good conditions for bird life.

Come and experience the full moon by the fire in Findstrup Dal, where Hanne Pedersen from Naturkompasset offers NADA ear acupuncture. We gather around the campfire, where I serve a cup of NADA detox tea, which, along with the acupuncture, aims to provide calm. NADA is a recognized balance-creating acupuncture that the Chinese have been using for more than 1000 years. NADA is standardized methodology and aims to complement treatment in recovery, stress, addiction, and mental health conditions. Bring warm clothes and a blanket, there are benches with reindeer skins and the possibility to lie on your own blanket or sleeping mat. Please also bring a headlamp. Darkness invites contemplation and a slowness. Tag med på 2 dages Ø-hop til "de hemmelige øer" Besøg de to perler i det skønne sydfynske ø-hav. \ De charmerende små-øer er perfekte til dagsture. Begge øer er bilfri, så her er kan børn og voksne løbe frit omkring og nyde ø-livets fred og de smukke kyster, og strande.\ Naturen på begge øer er meget varieret, og køerne bidrager til naturpleje med afgræsning af områder. Både Svelmø og Bjørnø ligger tæt på Faaborg og er nemt tilgængelige med hhv. traktor og færge. For this event, we create a connection between the past and the present by moving and bringing to life the image in Svanninge Bakker. \ We dance/play simple folk dances to live folk music, and we play with improvised movement to improvised music with singing bowls/drums. \ Finally, there is the opportunity to paint your own picture inspired by your evening play anno 2025. **Weekend island stay at Avernakø in the South Funen Archipelago Go on this weekend island stay alone or with your very best yarn friends. In addition to plant dyeing and hiking, the stay will focus on coziness, community and the common interest in the yarn. Bring your knitwear and get all the way down into gear. Avernakø Landhotel a place with a homely atmosphere, lots of coziness and good homemade food. In addition, we have a park-like garden, restaurant and farm shop. The weekend starts in Faaborg where plant colours and field communicators Henriette Grube and Anne, nature supervisor in Tur i Natur — Anne, will receive 9.45 at Faaborg harbour. On the ferry trip, they will share their knowledge of our corner of the South Funen Archipelago. On the crossing there will be cake as well as coffee and tea. Day 1 will feature plant coloring, walking with Anne, delicious food and plenty of time for coziness and relaxation. Day 2 will include breakfast, plant coloring, lunch, afternoon coffee and joint ferry ride back to Faaborg. We thank you for a fantastic weekend in Faaborg at 15.50. Plant Colouring Plant coloring We carry out all processes in plant coloring with 2 different plants/colors. Step 1: Pickling that enables the yarn's ability to take on color. Step 2: The dye bath itself, where water, plants and yarn are heated and staining occurs. Step 3: Fixing colors in vinegar water. Plant coloring is cozy and slow, so there is plenty of time for relaxation and for the knitwear along the way. It is possible to bring your own yarn for dyeing. It must be wool, mohair or angora — however max 500 g. There will also be an option to buy Hand-spun yarn at Avernakø Landhotel, which can be used forplant dyeing. Hiking Discover one of the beautiful wonders of the archipelago on foot. In addition to the walk from the ferry to the Avernakø Landhotel, after lunch on day 1, there will be a wonderful hike around the island. The hike will be a guided tour with small pleasant stories about nature, the area and the history of Avernakø. The trip will be about 7-8 km. long. If you have difficulty walking, you can shorten the trip.

*Experience two islands in one trip in the South Funen Archipelago, Avernakø and Lyø. We take care of everything from ferry tickets and luggage transfers to accommodation and food. Here you get the chance to experience part of a UNESCO Global Geopark. * \ - The Program Day 1: The tour starts in Faaborg at 9:45 a.m. On Kanalvej 13, the island ferry is waiting for you, departing at 10:00. The first stop is Lyø where the ferry runs until 10:40am. When you board the ferry you will find a clearly marked “cage” where you need to put your luggage, the ferry staff will arrange to get it safely to Avernakø, where we will transport it up to the hotel. On Lyø there are 4 hours to explore this beautiful island. There are no dining options outside the summer season on Lyø, so it's a good idea to bring packed lunches. The ferry departs from Lyø to Avernakø at 14:40. From Avernakø Harbour there is a trip of 1.5 km. to the hotel, where we are waiting with your luggage and a room. At 16:00 there is a welcome with coffee and cake. Maybe the energy is for an evening walk after the meal or maybe the beautiful nature of Avernakou will have to wait until day 2. Day 2 you will have packed lunch in connection with breakfast and on the trip there are many good and obvious places to enjoy it. Among other things, Madpakkehuset on Skallevejen. You leave your luggage at the hotel and then we transport it down to the ferry before departure. Enjoy a delicious lunch with a variety of options from the menu. 1:00 PM We invite you on a guided winter walk, where we will walk around the popular "Skallevejen" trail (4.3 km) together. Our guide will tell you about the island's nature, culture, and history. Afterwards, you can explore the island on your own - on foot, by rented bike, or in your own car. We recommend a trip across "Drejet" or around Hovedsøen, and you will be provided with a map of the island. After dark, we will cozy up indoors with board games, glögg, and apple fritters. We take care of everything, from the company from Faaborg to accommodation and food and activities. The Program Day1 9:45am: We meet at Kanal 13, Faaborg where the ferry is waiting for us. On the ferry we serve buns with cold or hot cocoa and we can tell a lot about the South Funen Island Sea. There is also free access to a locker filled with children's books, toys and drawing supplies so that children can enjoy themselves throughout the trip. 11:10am: Upon arrival at Avernakø, we take your luggage to the hotel, so you can enjoy a relaxing walk up to the hotel without carrying anything. Throughout the stay there is free access to fruit, vegetables and buttered buns for the little hungry, as well as coffee and tea for the adults. Det sydfynske Øhav bugner med varer, man kan tage med ind i sit køkken. Tang, rejer, krabber og en masse spændende planter fra strandene - blot for at nævne noget af det. Verdens gadekøkkener vrimler med små lækre retter og hapser, der egner sig fortrinligt til bålmad, men selvfølgelig kan man også lave dem hjemme i sit køkken. På denne workshop kombinerer vi de to ting, og med inspiration fra alverdens køkkener ser vi på, hvad øhavet kan bidrage med, når vi bl.a. skal lave og eksperimentere med takoyaki, poh pia tod, quesadillas, wonton og meget mere fra alverdens gadekøkkener.
