South Funen on foot is four days on hiking trails through some of Denmark's most exciting natural and cultural landscapes.
We follow parts of the Øhavstien trail along the coast and forest, experience ice age landscape in Svanninge Bakker, and walk through Pipstorn Forest, where mounds of the past and ancient memories tell of the people who lived here thousands of years ago. In Rødme Svinehaver we wander through one of Funen's most distinctive natural areas with open overhangs, old trees and rich wildlife.
Along the way, we slow down and make room for views, narratives and conversations. The hiking days are for everyone who wants to experience South Funen on foot and get better acquainted with the nature, history and special character of the landscape.
The hikes take place on varied terrain with forest trails, dirt roads and hilly stretches. You don't have to be an experienced hiker, but you should be ready to walk up to 15 km a day in varied and sometimes hilly terrain.

Here you live
You will be accommodated in a room unit with a shower/toilet together with another participant. Some units have two separate rooms, while in others you sleep in the same room. If you wish to sleep in a tent in the area, this is also an option that you provide upon registration.
During the course you will stay at Trente Mølle, a charming nature school in the middle of the South Funen countryside. The place is peacefully surrounded by forest, hills and streams close to Svanninge Bakker and Øhavstien and forms an ideal setting for days of walking and community.
Trente Mølle has roots in the old mill history of the area and is today a gathering place for nature school, outdoor and course activities. Here is a relaxed and informal atmosphere with good communal facilities and cozy outdoor areas where you can enjoy the tranquility after the day's hike.
When today's stage is completed, there is an opportunity to relax in the scenic surroundings, enjoy the community and recharge for the next day's experiences on the trails around South Funen.
Transportation to hikers' starting places
The walks take place from different starting points and it is necessary for participants to use carpooling to get to and from the routes. The organizers coordinate the carpooling during the event, so that everyone is provided with transportation options.
